Publisher CRITICAL REFLEX announced that the first-person psychological horror game Mouthwashing, developed by Wrong Organ, will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Nintendo Switch on October 29. The title will also be available through Xbox Game Pass.
The game follows five crew members stranded on the Tulpar, a wrecked space freighter. Players control Jimmy, a pilot tasked with caring for the incapacitated captain while facing a desperate situation where power will fail in 6 months and food supplies will run out even sooner. With no hope of rescue, the crew must confront their impending deaths.
Gameplay involves exploring the ship and interacting with crew members to uncover their pasts and the events leading to the wreck. As the narrative progresses, the boundary between reality and delusion blurs, creating a sense of psychological dread. The experience forces players to question the validity of what they see.
Mouthwashing previously released on PC via Steam, where it has earned an Overwhelmingly Positive rating. Players have praised the game for its high-quality production and emotionally harrowing narrative developments.
