Modern Warfare 4 has launched its DMZ extraction mode in early access, introducing significant upgrades to the Call of Duty experience. The mode emphasizes exploration and narrative-driven gameplay through various mission types and side objectives.
Matches support up to 60 players in trios, featuring PvPvE gameplay where survival and extraction are the primary goals. Participants have 30 minutes to complete objectives before irradiated gas consumes the map, followed by a final 10-minute window to reach an exfil location.
Players can engage with DMZ Orders, which function as an extension of the tutorial. These objectives focus on teaching scavenging, item crafting, and FOB upgrades, providing XP regardless of the chosen deployment type.
The mode also features six launch-day story missions that offer multi-step narrative objectives at specific points of interest on the Hajin map. These missions require selection during the FOB deployment phase and reward players with XP and items.
