Key information
Developer Alliance Arts has officially canceled the public Steam demo for its upcoming title, Drunken Goddess Reflux. Originally scheduled for October 19, the demo was pulled due to concerns that generative AI tools could be used to imitate the game's presentation and mechanics, potentially leading to unauthorized copies appearing before the official release.
In place of the public demo, the studio plans to host closed online sessions for a limited number of participants. Access to these sessions will require players to agree to specific conditions regarding the streaming and publication of gameplay footage. Alliance Arts noted that they currently lack the necessary resources to properly enforce these restrictions on a wider scale.
Drunken Goddess Reflux is an anime-inspired drinking game featuring a demon-themed version of Russian roulette. Developed by Alliance Arts and Who You, the game is currently slated for a PC release on Steam on December 8, 2026. The decision to restrict access reflects ongoing industry debates regarding how developers can maintain control over their creative works amidst the rise of generative AI.
