Actor Stephen Root officially confirmed his involvement in the game during a September 2026 interview with the Associated Press. Root, known for his work in Office Space and Barry, noted that fans had already begun identifying his voice within promotional materials, making continued secrecy difficult.
Root is widely expected to portray Brian Heder, a veteran drug smuggler operating in the Leonida Keys. According to Rockstar, this character manages a boatyard and coordinates criminal activities alongside his wife, Lori.
