Electronic Arts has launched Dead Space: Convergence, a limited-time Halloween crossover event that brings the horror franchise into Battlefield 6 and the free-to-play title Battlefield REDSEC. The event, which began on October 20, 2026, introduces a non-canonical scenario where Pax Armata forces discover a Marker hidden within Area 51.
The core of the event is Marker Incursion, a PvE mode for 16 players where squads fight through corrupted territory to destroy Marker Shrines and stop the Convergence. Players must survive hordes of Marked Soldiers, which are former military personnel influenced by the Marker. The DS-23 Pulse Rifle also makes its debut as a Battle Pickup during this mode and can be found in Battle Royale and Rapid Royale.
Participants can earn Semiconductors, a temporary currency, by completing challenges, eliminating Marked Soldiers, or finding them in other game modes. This currency unlocks Dead Space-themed rewards, including the Aegis VII Soldier skin, RIG-Certified SMG weapon skin, and various cosmetic items like patches and player card backgrounds.
EA notes that the event requires the base games and all updates to function. While the event features optional in-game purchases, no specific end date has been provided. This crossover continues a long-standing tradition of Dead Space references in the Battlefield series, dating back to the hidden Advanced Suit helmet in Battlefield 3.
