A remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is scheduled for release on November 5, 2026, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2. Details regarding the title emerged from a download card discovered in Japanese retail stores.
The upcoming title will require 27 GB of storage space. This represents a significant increase compared to the original 1998 Nintendo 64 release, which occupied only 32 MB of space on its cartridge.
The increased file size is attributed to comprehensive graphical updates, enhanced environmental detail, and new animations. Despite these improvements, the game remains smaller than other titles on the platform, such as Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, which requires 43.5 GB.
Within the main Zelda series, this remake will be the largest release for the Switch consoles, exceeding the storage requirements of both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom on the Nintendo Switch 2.
