Pearl Abyss has unveiled Charting the Unknown, a forthcoming expansion for Crimson Desert designed to provide players with increased freedom within the world of Pywel. The content is scheduled for release on October 29, 2026, following a two-week delay.
The update introduces a relationship system allowing characters Kliff, Damiane, and Oongka to build trust, pursue romances, and marry specific NPCs. Furthermore, players can construct homes from scratch, customizing elements like walls and windows, or manage commercial ventures such as smithies and restaurants with ally assistance.
Beyond social mechanics, the expansion adds exploration of Pywel's Great Ocean, where players can build ships and search for submerged ruins. Combat-focused additions include new storylines, castle conquests, and a boss-rush challenge, though some content requires progress in the main campaign and completion of specific missions.
Charting the Unknown is currently available for pre-order on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. In Europe, the expansion is priced at € 24,99, while pricing in Brazil varies by platform storefront.
