Netflix unveiled the official trailer for The Magician's Nephew on October 14. The film, directed by Greta Gerwig, is scheduled for a theatrical release on February 11, 2027, followed by its debut on the streaming platform on April 2.
The promotional video garnered over 481 million views within its first few days. This performance surpassed recent high-profile film trailers and maintained the top spot in YouTube's cinema category while trending across social media platforms.
Based on C.S. Lewis's book, the narrative follows characters Digory and Polly. After encountering Digory's uncle Andrew, the duo explores various magical worlds and encounters fantastical beings. Although it is the sixth published book in the series, the story serves as a prequel to all other entries.
The massive engagement suggests significant audience interest, positioning the project for a strong theatrical run. This film marks the first of three features Gerwig has committed to with Netflix, ensuring continued promotional efforts leading up to the premiere.
