Riot Games has officially revived its virtual K-pop group K/DA after a six-year hiatus. The group released a new single titled Firestarter, which serves as the lead track for an upcoming EP scheduled for release on October 21, 2026. This project marks the group's first major release since 2020.

The track features returning vocalists MIYEON and SOYEON of i-dle, joined by new contributors Sophie Powers and Mimi Webb. Production was handled by Kill Dave and Sebastien Najand. Notably, Seraphine, who appeared on the 2020 track More, is absent from this lineup.

The accompanying music video was produced by Fortiche, the animation studio recognized for its work on Arcane. The video utilizes a hybrid style of 3D CGI and hand-drawn elements, incorporating subtle references to League of Legends abilities like Ahri’s charm. Critics praise the visual composition, noting that the choreography draws inspiration from drag ballroom culture, featuring sharp, theatrical movements.

Musically, the song is described as a blend of punchy rap and melodic, ethereal pre-choruses. The release, which arrived a day early following leaks, has already garnered significant attention, surpassing 4.3 million views on YouTube within nine hours of its debut.
