Riot Games has officially revived its virtual K-pop group K/DA after a six-year hiatus. The group released a new single titled Firestarter, which serves as the lead track for an upcoming EP scheduled for release on October 21, 2026.
The track features returning vocalists MIYEON and SOYEON of i-dle, alongside new contributors Sophie Powers and Mimi Webb. Production was handled by Kill Dave and Sebastien Najand, the latter of whom has been involved with the group's sound since its inception.
The music video was produced by Fortiche, the animation studio behind Arcane. The video utilizes a hybrid style of 3D CGI and hand-drawn elements, incorporating subtle references to League of Legends abilities like Ahri's charm. Critics noted the choreography draws inspiration from drag ballroom culture, featuring sharp, theatrical movements that complement the song's high-fashion aesthetic.
Musically, the track is described as a balanced composition that alternates between punchy rap sections and ethereal pre-choruses. The song arrived as a surprise release on October 19, 2026, following online leaks, and quickly garnered over 4.3 million views on YouTube within nine hours.
