CD Projekt Red is currently distributing the promised patch 5.01 for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered. This update addresses various technical issues and gameplay concerns identified since the game's late September release.
The update introduces significant visual adjustments, including modifications to resolution and image sharpening to enhance fidelity and clarity, particularly for handheld play. Developers also refined lighting to mitigate excessive brightness and added new graphics settings for Bloom, Light Shafts, and Depth of Field.
Gameplay fixes include correcting the Synergy skill values, adding damage reflection to the Exploding Shield skill, and resolving issues with boat movement and ladder animations. Technical optimizations were also implemented, such as fixing Dynamic Resolution Scaling artifacts and addressing a rare crash occurring during region transitions.
The patch also resolves audio inconsistencies, improves cross-platform mod support cache handling, and adds Ukrainian text localization. Players may need to re-confirm policy consent preferences due to backend updates. This release prepares the title for the upcoming expansion, Songs of the Past, scheduled for next year.
