Key information
Electronic Arts has not provided an official announcement regarding Star Wars: Battlefront 3, yet company leadership has hinted that such a project remains active and ongoing.
During internal communications, EA executives Cam Weber and David Tinson confirmed that DICE will continue collaborating with Respawn on the Battlefield franchise and an unnamed project. While the company did not explicitly name the title, various unofficial sources have identified this mysterious endeavor as Star Wars: Battlefront 3.
The previous entry in the series, released in 2015, sold over 9 million units within its first two months. Despite these sales, the performance fell short of internal expectations, a result the company attributed to the implementation of micro-transactions at launch. EA representatives stated they have learned from these past errors.
The future of the franchise remains a subject of speculation, with some reports suggesting potential involvement from Bungie. It is worth noting that a previous iteration of Star Wars: Battlefront 3 was cancelled in 2009 while nearing completion.
