Square Enix released a new update for Torneko no Daibouken Fushigi no Dungeon Chotto Suteki na Remaster, aiming to improve game tempo and address various bugs. This title, a remaster of the 1993 Super Famicom dungeon RPG, was released on September 10 across multiple platforms including PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, iOS, and Android.
The update significantly improves gameplay speed by adjusting sound effect playback and reducing the delay before players can act after music starts. Notably, the five-second freeze that previously occurred during level-ups has been removed, allowing players to move immediately. Additionally, the tempo of message displays has been increased to handle situations where multiple monsters act simultaneously.
Several behaviors that differed from the original version have been corrected to align with the classic experience. These fixes address issues with monster splitting, bomb rock explosions, trap activation, and sleeping monster behavior, enabling players to utilize original strategies once again. Furthermore, the update improves text readability by correcting unnatural line breaks in Japanese dialogue to match the original game.
While the update is currently available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, iOS, and Android, information regarding availability for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 remains unconfirmed at this time. The game previously faced mixed reviews on Steam, with users citing concerns over tempo and original behavior discrepancies, prompting this latest round of adjustments.
