On October 19, ZETA DIVISION announced the renewal of its partnership with Riot Games, confirming its participation in the 2027 VALORANT season. The organization will continue to represent Japan within the Pacific region, starting with the inaugural Kickoff tournament.
The 2027 season introduces a significant shift in competitive structure across the Americas, EMEA, Pacific, and China regions. The league will move away from long-term seasonal play, adopting a tournament-centric format where individual match results carry greater weight. New "Cups" events will replace the traditional regular season, and increased slots for open qualifiers aim to foster a more accessible competitive environment.
ZETA DIVISION noted that the new format includes plans for domestic competition in Japan for the first time in four years. The team expressed a commitment to leveraging their four years of international league experience to compete at the highest level despite the rigorous new structure. They also plan to organize various fan-focused events to engage directly with their community.
The organization attributed this achievement to the collective support of players, staff, creators, sponsors, and fans. While acknowledging that the upcoming challenges will be difficult, ZETA DIVISION stated their intent to create as many exciting moments as possible for their supporters throughout the new season.
