Investment bank Citi has released a report speculating that Red Dead Redemption 3 could launch by the end of 2027 or in 2028. This forecast arrives as anticipation builds for the upcoming release of GTA 6, which is scheduled to hit stores on November 19.

The prediction relies on comments from Rockstar technology director Phil Hooker, who suggested that future titles might reach the market faster due to technical advancements and improvements made to the RAGE engine during the development of GTA 6.

However, the report faces skepticism regarding its feasibility. Rockstar typically maintains development cycles of at least five years, and attempting to release a major production by 2027 or 2028 would represent a significant shift in operations. Furthermore, the company previously struggled with the ambitious, simultaneous development of GTA 6 and Red Dead Redemption 2, an experience it is unlikely to repeat.

Additional factors, such as the expected post-launch support for GTA 6 and its potential online mode, further complicate the timeline. While Red Dead Redemption 2 remains a massive success with over 87 million copies sold, there is currently no official confirmation to support such an early release for a sequel.
