Intel is reportedly developing its upcoming Xeon E-series processors based on Nova Lake silicon with a distinct architectural approach. According to leaks from Jaykihn, these workstation chips will eschew hybrid designs, instead offering models comprised exclusively of either performance P-Cores or efficiency E-Cores.

The P-Core lineup is expected to include five variants ranging from 4 to 16 cores. Conversely, the E-Core series will offer four options, scaling from 4 up to 32 cores. These specialized configurations differ from the hybrid Nova Lake-S desktop processors, which will combine both core types.

These processors will utilize the W980 chipset, which supports ECC-enabled DDR5 memory and DMI 5.0 x4 connectivity. The platform provides up to 48 PCIe lanes, including Gen 5 support for both the PEG slot and M.2 NVMe storage, alongside integrated Thunderbolt 4 or USB4 ports.

Intel has not officially confirmed these specifications or provided a release schedule. While Nova Lake-S desktop chips are anticipated for the first quarter of 2027, the Xeon E variants are expected to follow once motherboard and system designs are finalized.
