The recently released Modern Warfare 4 includes a tribute to Vince Zampella, the co-creator of the Call of Duty franchise and co-founder of Respawn Entertainment, who died in a car accident last December.
Infinity Ward acknowledges Zampella's foundational role in the series, which began nearly 20 years ago in 2007. His influence extended to his work on Medal of Honor: Allied Assault and later the creation of Titanfall and Star Wars Jedi titles.
During the game's final mission credits, Zampella is honored alongside other contributors who passed away during production, including Rainer Yang, Matt Canale, and Preetam Raj Bordoloi. Their names appear first on screen.
Modern Warfare 4 is currently receiving praise from fans as a strong entry in the franchise. The title is recognized for its significant impact on the development of first-person shooter campaigns and online multiplayer mechanics.
