Infinity Ward has released Modern Warfare 4, the newest installment in the franchise that Vince Zampella helped initiate nearly 20 years ago in 2007. The studio pays tribute to the late co-creator, who passed away in a car accident last December, within the game's campaign credits.

The tribute appears midway through the credits following the completion of the final mission. Zampella's name is listed first alongside other contributors who died during production, including Rainer Yang, Matt Canale, and Preetam Raj Bordoloi.

Zampella was a pivotal figure in establishing the series after departing EA, where he led design on Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. He later founded Respawn Entertainment, the studio behind the Titanfall and Star Wars Jedi titles.

Modern Warfare 4 is currently receiving praise from fans, with the game featuring a moment where Captain Price addresses the player. The title is recognized for its significant impact on the evolution of online multiplayer shooters.
