Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse introduces a challenging ascent through the Clock Tower shortly after entering Dracula's Castle. This area features hazardous spike traps, flying enemies, and significant drops, culminating in a confrontation with the Zealot at the summit.
Players must navigate various obstacles, including giant iron fists that pound the ground and spinning blades located within large wheels. To gain height, players can utilize enemies like Medusa Heads as stepping stones, while also needing to duck under spikes to avoid falling.
The tower introduces complex mechanics such as iron fists that activate switches to rotate platforms. Additionally, Nova Skeletons pose a threat by firing full-screen lasers, requiring players to leap across rotating platforms while dodging these beams.
Progressing through the vertical shafts eventually leads to a save room and a shortcut back to the bottom. Further challenges include navigating the Eastern Steps, where wheels of spinning saws roll down slopes, before players can proceed toward the Library.
