At the Summer Game Fest 2026, genDESIGN revealed gen ATLAS, the successor to Shadow of the Colossus, which is scheduled for release in 2027. However, players may find an alternative in Nyra and the Garden of Moros, a project by Resting Relic, the developers behind Song of Iron.
Nyra and the Garden of Moros functions as an unofficial spiritual successor. Instead of the mechanical giants found in gen ATLAS or the colossi of the original title, players face massive creatures resembling dinosaurs.
The gameplay involves exploring with a wolf companion to locate and confront these beasts to break seals, aiming to imprison an evil entity. While the moral weight of these encounters may differ from the original game, the process of tracking and battling remains similar.
Recent footage showcases combat against several of the beasts required to break the seals. Despite the promising visuals, the release date remains unconfirmed on Steam, leaving players waiting for further updates.
