Peripheral manufacturer Hori has unveiled the Electric Ocarina, an officially licensed product designed for the Nintendo Switch 2 title The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The device is scheduled for release on November 5.
The controller functions by allowing the console to detect its audio output, enabling synchronization with in-game musical performances. It features two distinct modes: a free performance mode that mimics traditional finger-hole operation and an auto-play mode that includes 12 pre-recorded tracks from the game.
Unlike a traditional instrument, this device does not require the user to blow into it. To facilitate private practice, the hardware includes an integrated volume control dial and a dedicated headphone jack.
The product is priced at 7,980 yen including tax. Interested consumers can currently place pre-orders through the official Hori online store or via Amazon.
