The winning entries highlighted various intrusive or awkward mechanics. One suggestion involved a mandatory, unskippable movie playing whenever a player removes a friend, while another proposed displaying a player's real-time equipment status, such as showing them naked while bathing.
Other submissions focused on social friction and technical barriers. These included a system where the friend list only shows who the player thinks is a friend, or a feature that forces users to call customer support to finalize a friendship termination.
Additional humorous concepts featured systems that mock the player, such as NPCs offering pity for having no friends or the game interface declaring the list irrelevant to the user. One entry even suggested a developer update claiming the feature was removed due to user demand.
