Taskey announced Midnight Toybox, a single-player turn-based horror board game set in a midnight nursery. Developed by the Rabidbit Games label, the title marks the first original release for the company's new gaming division. A demo is currently available on Steam, with the full version scheduled for release in early December 2026.
Players participate in a deadly game orchestrated by modified toys. The board features pieces that appear identical, hiding both beneficial infantry and detrimental bomb units. Success requires players to observe opponent behavior to deduce the nature of these pieces before deciding which to claim or force upon the adversary.
Strategic depth is provided through action cards that allow for unique movement, stealing opponent tactics, or doubling the value of captured pieces. Players must navigate three distinct victory conditions: capturing three enemy infantry, forcing the opponent to take three of the player's bomb units, or advancing an infantry piece to the back of the enemy territory.
The game will be featured in the Steam Next Fest: October 2026 Edition, running from October 20 to October 27. Pricing for the final release remains unannounced.
