Gust has announced that the upcoming title, Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories, will feature a unique system where the protagonist's physique changes based on nutritional intake. This mechanic allows the character to gain weight depending on the amount of snacks and food consumed.
The developer conducted a survey regarding this feature, which saw a 78.9% approval rate among respondents. Support varied by language, with English-speaking users showing 90.79% approval, while Japanese and Traditional Chinese users recorded 74.61% and 74.19% respectively. Simplified Chinese users showed 58.60% support.
Players can toggle the weight-change system on or off. When enabled, the protagonist's appearance shifts based on consumption, while disabling it maintains a static physique. Additionally, users can lock a specific appearance to prevent further changes even if the system is active.
Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories is scheduled for release on February 25, 2027. The game will be available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2, with official support for the Korean language.
