Key information

Bandai Namco has unveiled the first gameplay footage of Ultra Instinct Goku in the upcoming title Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3. This appearance marks the character's debut in the sequel, showcased through the new Soul Switch mechanic, which allows players to temporarily swap their custom avatar for a series character during combat.

In a demonstration against Jeice, the character displayed a variety of combat capabilities, including rapid combos and special attacks like the Kamehameha. While this initial look does not represent the full potential of the transformation, it suggests that Goku will be a formidable presence for experienced players.

The game is set in the year 1000, specifically within West City, and will utilize time travel to feature various versions of the protagonists. Developers indicate that this may include evolved or unique iterations of Ultra Instinct as the story explores arcs previously unseen in the original series.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is scheduled for release in 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Although a specific launch date remains unannounced, Bandai Namco has confirmed that post-launch DLC will include content from The Galactic Patrol and the Moro arc, featuring characters never before seen in a video game.
