The organization RTA in Japan announced the selected games for the upcoming RTA in Japan Winter 2026 event. The marathon is scheduled to take place from December 25 to December 31, 2026, showcasing speedrunning techniques across a diverse range of titles.
The lineup features modern titles such as Hollow Knight: Silksong, SILENT HILL f, and Civilization VII. Nintendo fans will see a return of series staples, including The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Metroid Prime Remastered, following a notable absence of Nintendo titles in the summer of 2025.
The event includes unique challenges like a blindfolded run of Super Mario 64 and a 0.0% completion attempt for Donkey Kong 64. Other specialized categories include a swordless run of the original The Legend of Zelda and a glitchless VR mode run of Resident Evil Village.
Competitive races are also planned, featuring four runners for New Super Mario Bros. Wii, alongside contests for titles like Donkey Kong Bananza. The full schedule for these runs is expected to be released on October 25.
