Key information
The Lenovo Legion Go S running SteamOS is currently available at a discounted price of $999.99 at Best Buy. This handheld device serves as an alternative to the $789 Steam Deck OLED, offering a different hardware configuration for portable gaming.
The device features an eight-inch IPS screen with 1080p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Internally, it is equipped with a Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage, which provides double the memory and capacity of the base Steam Deck OLED.
Design-wise, the Legion Go S includes two-stage triggers. While it is noted to be less powerful than the $1,299.99 Asus ROG Xbox Ally X20, which utilizes a Z2 Extreme chip and an OLED display, the Legion Go S remains a capable option for users.
Cameron Faulkner notes that this specific configuration, paired with SteamOS, offers a superior experience compared to the model that launched with Windows 11 and the newer, yet less powerful, Ryzen Z2 Go chip.
