Key information
Studio Genki has announced that their upcoming 2,5D action RPG, MythicTale, has surpassed 4000 wishlists on Steam. The developers noted that this milestone was achieved without formal promotion, relying instead on social media interest from fans drawn to its retro shōnen aesthetic.
The game features a top-down perspective combining 3D environments with 2D character sprites. Its design draws inspiration from portable titles of the 90s, incorporating platforming, exploration, and martial arts combat that utilizes energy attacks and combos.
According to the studio, players can explore the world at their own pace, engaging with memorable characters and overcoming environmental challenges such as climbing and jumping. The project explicitly draws influence from the Dragon Ball franchise, featuring boss battles and strange creatures.
Currently, MythicTale lacks a confirmed release date. Studio Genki has not provided information regarding potential availability on console platforms, leaving the project's future release scope limited to its current Steam presence.
