Nintendo Japan has officially announced that repair costs for the Nintendo Switch 2 and the existing Nintendo Switch family will increase starting November 16, 2026. The company attributed these adjustments to rising costs for repair components.

The price hikes specifically target CPU motherboard repairs, which will see a uniform increase of 9,900 yen across all models. For the Nintendo Switch 2, the reference price for motherboard repairs will rise from 27,500 yen to 37,400 yen. Other models, including the OLED, standard, and Lite versions, will also see their motherboard repair costs increase by the same 9,900 yen margin.

Beyond motherboards, other repair services such as screen replacements, battery swaps, and port repairs will increase by 1,100 yen. For instance, Nintendo Switch 2 screen repairs will rise to 16,500 yen, while USB Type-C port and battery services will cost 11,000 yen. These changes do not currently apply to peripherals like Joy-Cons or the Nintendo Switch 2 dock.

The new pricing applies to units received by Nintendo Japan on or after November 16, 2026. Official guidance notes that these figures are reference prices and actual costs may vary based on damage severity. There is currently no confirmation regarding potential price changes for repair services in Taiwan.
