The cooperative adventure game Big Walk, a major 2026 success with over one million copies sold in six days, is notably absent from Xbox consoles. Developer House House has confirmed this omission is a deliberate political boycott rather than a technical or financial limitation.

The studio aligns its decision with the international BDS movement, which has designated Microsoft and its gaming division as priority boycott targets. House House cites Microsoft's provision of cloud services and artificial intelligence to the Israeli Ministry of Defense as the primary reason for this stance.

While the game remains available on PC via Steam, the developers explain that this platform choice avoids the 30% commission that would otherwise generate direct profit for Microsoft. The studio acknowledges that excluding Xbox prevents some friends from playing together, expressing disappointment while maintaining that the boycott will persist until Microsoft is removed from the BDS target list.

This move has influenced other industry entities, with the studio Ice Water removing its title Tenderfoot Tactics from Xbox storefronts. Additionally, employees at Arkane Studios have pressured their leadership to terminate military contracts, highlighting a growing geopolitical trend among independent creators and labor groups.
