The game centers on a unique hide-and-seek mechanic where players disguised as characters like 'め' must blend into groups of 'ぬ' dummies. Runners use dash and charge movements to act like the surrounding characters, while seekers must rely on intuition and observation to spot subtle discrepancies in shape or movement to capture the hidden players.
NumeNume includes two primary modes: Survival, a team-based mode with fixed roles, and Swap, where players rotate roles to compete for individual points. Beyond the initial characters, players can unlock additional sets such as 'b' and 'd' or '己' and '巳', and even utilize custom-made characters. The game also supports solo play against CPU opponents.
The Steam version is priced at 500 yen, with a 20% discount available until October 30, 2026. The mobile version is free-to-play with optional in-app purchases for the full version, which is also discounted to 400 yen during the same period. The game supports 10 languages and provides guidelines for video streaming and content creation.
