Digital Extremes has initiated Epoch Operation: Taubound, a community-driven event available on all platforms until Tuesday, Nov. 17. This event tasks players with collecting a new resource called Moonflesh on Eris or through timed Alert missions to fuel the journey toward the upcoming Tau Star System, which is scheduled to arrive later this year.
The event introduces The Icebind, an experimental six-player cooperative mode located at Yuvan Peak. Squads must coordinate strategies across four phases, utilizing randomized modifiers and Cryobell keys to overcome challenges. Successful completion grants access to rewards from Melica’s Glacial Laboratory.
Players can also engage with the narrative through the Prologue to Tau quest, which allows them to play as The Lotus to explore her memories. While the event is limited-time, this quest will remain a permanent addition to the game's Quest Codex for those who have completed The Old Peace and The Hex.
Community Director Megan Everett emphasized the collaborative nature of the event, encouraging players to work together to reach new milestones. Participants can track global progress via an in-game tracker and receive transmissions from Praghasa daily after 7 p.m. ET to uncover the story behind the journey to Tau.
