Publisher Shiravune has officially announced that the visual novel Sakura no Uta -Upon the Sakura Forest- will launch on Steam on December 17. The title, which has received numerous awards in the bishoujo game category, is currently participating in the Steam Next Fest.
Developed by the brand Makuro, the game features a script by SCA-自, known for the work Wonderful Everyday. The narrative explores themes of language, melody, and living happily, with original character designs provided by artists including Inukira, Kagome, and Kei 4.
The story follows protagonist Naoya Kusanagi, the son of a world-class artist, who stops painting after his father's death. He moves in with his friend Kei Natsume and interacts with various characters, including his childhood friend Rin Ousakura and the Natsume family, as they navigate life at Yumihari Academy.
A free demo is currently available for download on the Steam store, covering the content from Chapter 0 to Chapter II of the all-ages version. Interested players are encouraged to add the game to their wishlists to receive updates regarding the official release and future promotions.
