The developer behind the upcoming title Drunken Goddess Reflux has officially canceled its planned public Steam demo. Originally scheduled for October 19, the release has been scrapped due to significant concerns regarding the potential for AI-generated clones.

Alliance Arts expressed apprehension that releasing a public demo would allow bad actors to utilize AI tools to replicate the game's unique presentation and mechanics. The team fears that such copycat products could be developed and released before the full game launches, negatively impacting their commercial success.

Beyond AI threats, the developers cited an inability to manage streaming and content restrictions for a wide audience. Consequently, the team is shifting to a closed play session for a limited number of participants who agree to specific rules regarding gameplay footage.

Interested players are encouraged to join the official Discord server to participate in the restricted testing environment. Despite these changes to the demo schedule, the full version of the demonic drinking game remains on track for its PC release on Steam this December 8, 2026.
