Battlefield Studios recently addressed community criticism regarding two controversial cosmetic items introduced in Battlefield 6 Season 5. Following the October 13 launch, players expressed frustration over a spelling error on a character skin and a design choice featuring excessive weaponry.

The McNeil skin featured a misspelling of the word "security" on an armband. Developers confirmed this error will be corrected in a November update. Conversely, the Midnight Mirage skin, which depicts an operative equipped with five pistol holsters, remains unchanged. The studio clarified that the latter was an intentional creative choice inspired by over-the-top action movie tropes.

In an official Discord statement, the team acknowledged that these items failed to meet their internal quality standards. The developers are currently reviewing their internal workflows and quality control processes to prevent similar visual oddities in future content releases.

While the studio responded to the design concerns, they did not address speculation regarding the potential use of generative AI in creating these assets. Season 5 content continues to roll out in waves, with additional maps and events scheduled for November 10 and December 8.
