Square Enix has provided new information regarding Final Fantasy Resonance ahead of its October 22, 2026, release. The title will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
The main narrative is estimated to last between 30 and 40 hours. This duration excludes optional content such as side quests and Secret Dungeons, which offer additional challenges for players who choose to explore further.
The game serves as a retelling of the initial portion of the mobile RPG Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. It follows knights Rain and Lasswell alongside a character named Fina. Square Enix notes that newcomers do not need prior franchise knowledge, as the story is self-contained and introduces returning characters with their own distinct backgrounds.
Players can currently access a demo covering the first chapter, which features HD-2D visuals and turn-based combat. Square Enix confirmed that save data from this three to five-hour trial will carry over to the full version upon launch.
