Developer Strangers has released a playable demo for Trailblazers: Into The March, a roguelite colony simulation that draws inspiration from titles like RimWorld and FTL: Faster Than Light. The game invites players to captain massive, animal-shaped landships across a dangerous fungal world known as the March.
Players manage a customizable landship while overseeing a crew of simulated individuals, each possessing unique backgrounds and abilities. Combat involves real-time action sequences where captains can utilize a tactical pause feature to issue commands to their crew and navigate encounters with opposing vessels.
The game features a distinct visual style, characterized by crew members that resemble collapsible wooden puppets. While character portraits are procedurally generated, the developers have included detailed, lush NPC portraits to highlight the game's aesthetic beauty. The experience also promises unpredictable events and enigmatic wonders throughout the journey.
Although a specific release date has not been announced, interested players can currently access the demo or add the title to their wishlist on Steam. The project is described as a blend of colony management and roguelite mechanics, influenced by diverse sources including Moebius, Nausicaa, and Darkest Dungeon.
