Developer Bulkhead is considering moving up the launch of Wardogs Season 3 to provide a proper fresh start for players. Although Season 2 recently launched and achieved daily peaks of 300,000 active users, the studio admits the current season failed to deliver the intended experience due to progression issues.

The developer acknowledges that progression was accelerated too aggressively, leading players to acquire high-tier gear like MBTs and tier-four armor within days. This rapid advancement undermined the seasonal wipe, which was intended to reset the game's economy and progression curve.

CEO Joe Brammer and UX Director Howard Philpott noted the difficulty in balancing the game for both dedicated influencers and casual players. While Season 2 aimed to assist those with limited playtime, the resulting balance shift inadvertently restored late-game conditions too quickly for the community.

Bulkhead will not perform an immediate reset to avoid penalizing current players. Instead, the team plans to monitor balance issues and introduce limited servers in update 2.5. These servers will restrict access to high-end equipment, allowing players to avoid power weapons while the studio evaluates future adjustments.
