CD Projekt RED and Fool's Theory have announced The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past, a new narrative expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Set in Letten, the homeland of the bard Jaskier, the story explores the character's mysterious past and his complex family history.

The expansion features a nostalgic journey focusing on the camaraderie between Geralt and Jaskier. While the region of Letten initially appears vibrant and idyllic, developers Despoina Anetaki and Jakub Rokosz describe a darker, sinister mystery lurking beneath the surface that casts a shadow over the valley.

Narratively, the expansion aims to reveal the true identity of Julian Alfred Pankratz, the viscount of Lettenhove. Players will encounter his relatives, including his cousin Lilia, his brother Gustav, and his grandmother, to understand why the bard remains so secretive about his origins.

Scheduled for release in 2027, Songs of the Past will be available on PC, Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series consoles. It follows the recent launch of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered, which arrived on these platforms in late September.
