Liquid Swords, the studio founded by Just Cause creator Christofer Sundberg, has officially declared bankruptcy. The developer is behind the title Samson: A Tyndalston Story, which was first revealed through a trailer last year.

According to reports from Breakit, the studio's financial collapse follows months of unpaid wages for staff. Approximately 30 employees are expected to receive government assistance as the company faces insolvency after failing to secure necessary investors.

Released on 8 April of this year, the game has received a Mixed reception on Steam. Reviewers have criticized the experience for technical bugs and sluggish in-game controls. Conversely, positive feedback highlights the game's world-building and notes that it runs with good optimization on the Steam Deck.

Development for the project began in 2020, with the team drawing inspiration from titles like Grand Theft Auto and Max Payne. The studio's future remains uncertain following the recent bankruptcy filing.
