Developed by DevAdam and Tape Corps and published by GameDev.ist, the online multiplayer game Mimic Busters arrived on PC via Steam on October 16. The title introduces a unique twist to the hide-and-seek genre by requiring players to craft their own disguises.
Mimic players begin as simple cubes and utilize intuitive 3D modeling tools to shape and paint themselves into objects that blend into the environment. While mimics must evade hunters until time expires, they emit a sound every 30 seconds, allowing hunters to track them. Hunters must be cautious, as firing weapons consumes health, necessitating careful observation over reckless shooting.
Strategic depth is provided through a point system where players earn more by hiding in larger forms or staying near MBI agents. Beyond the core mode, the game includes a quiz-style mode called Guess the Mimic, where players create models based on prompts, and a deathmatch mode.
Mimic Busters is currently available on Steam. To celebrate the release, the game is priced at 570 yen until October 30, representing a 38 percent discount from the standard price of 920 yen.
