Developer RetroStyle Games has officially announced Flame and Blame, a first-person firefighter simulation game. The title supports both solo play and cooperative multiplayer for up to four players. Set in a town facing a fire, players take on the role of inexperienced firefighters tasked with evacuating residents using any means necessary before the town is consumed by flames.
The gameplay involves preparing equipment at the station, driving to the scene, and connecting hoses to hydrants. Physics-based mechanics create chaotic scenarios where hoses whip around, doors are blown off, and simple tasks like saving a potted plant result in flooding. Hazards include live wires, gas, and fire tornadoes.
Players can utilize various tools, including axes, oxygen masks, and trampolines to launch residents or themselves. The trailer depicts extreme measures such as destroying a dam to extinguish the entire town. Rescue targets include humans, cats, dogs, and pandas.
Flame and Blame is scheduled for release on PC via Steam in 2027, with Japanese language support planned. The developer is currently recruiting playtesters through the Steam store page. While the initial launch is for PC, the team is considering future console versions.
