CD Projekt RED announced that the free update 2.5 for Cyberpunk 2077 will launch on October 22, 2026. This major patch coincides with the second season of the Netflix series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, introducing new narrative content, official console mod support, and technical enhancements.
The update adds a prequel quest titled Clampdown, featuring the Team King characters, and a guided tour mission called Welcome to Paradise. Developed with input from Pawel Sasko and the series' writers, these additions include voice acting from the show's cast. Players can also access a new radio station featuring music from both seasons of the anime.
Gameplay changes include the long-awaited ability to dual-wield Power pistols or revolvers via the new Double Trouble skill tree. Additionally, five Glamdoc NPCs now offer aesthetic customization, allowing players to change the colors of cybernetic arm implants. The update also introduces new hairstyles and clothing collections.
Official mod support arrives via mod.io for PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. While this allows easier installation of community creations, using mods disables trophy progression. Technical updates include DLSS 4.5 for PC, FSR 4 integration, and FOV sliders for consoles. The update will reach Nintendo Switch 2 shortly after the initial release.
