Key information

CD Projekt Red is preparing update 2.5 for Cyberpunk 2077, which aligns with the second season of the animated series Edgerunners. This update provides official confirmation for a long-standing fan theory regarding cyberpsychosis.

Players previously speculated that the protagonist V was immune to cyberpsychosis due to the unique biochemistry of the Soulkiller chip. This theory is now confirmed by the Edgerunners storyline, where a character named Talia uses a chip containing an entity called Capri to regenerate her brain and suppress symptoms of cyberpsychosis.

The free update 2.5 introduces new gameplay features requested by the community. These include an expanded cyberware customization system for finer control over hardware capabilities and a new combat style that allows players to wield two weapons simultaneously.

The developer plans to unveil the full details of the update during a special live broadcast scheduled for 17h on the studio's official Twitch and YouTube channels.
