The upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo Switch 2 will require 27 GB of storage space. This file size, revealed via a Japanese eShop download card shared by content creator Genki, makes the title approximately 844 times larger than the original 1998 Nintendo 64 release, which occupied 32 MB.

This significant increase in data is attributed to a comprehensive technical overhaul. The remake features a full symphonic soundtrack, replacing the original MIDI-based synthesis, and includes fully voiced cinematics in 15 languages. Graphically, the game now supports 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second, incorporating HDR and VRR compatibility alongside high-resolution character models with nuanced facial animations.

Gameplay has been modernized with a free camera system utilizing the second analog stick and updated movement mechanics that allow Link to jump and dash. Additionally, the developers have introduced new side quests and a dedicated mode called the Hall of Lost Heroes, which enables players to re-challenge defeated bosses.

The title is scheduled for release on November 5, 2026. It will feature connectivity with the Zelda Notes mobile application and full support for the franchise's amiibo figurines. Players are advised to ensure sufficient internal storage or utilize a fast MicroSD Express card to accommodate the installation.
