Key information
Developer Justcamh has introduced Nonolith, a 2D puzzle game where players control a gnome trapped within a massive, living structure. Unlike many modern titles, the game eschews unlockable abilities, providing all necessary tools to the player from the start.
The core gameplay revolves around manipulating the environment. Players can copy, paste, move, rotate, or delete sections of the scenery to navigate, such as creating staircases from stone or removing walls. Additionally, players can utilize pistons and arrange tiles into specific patterns to trigger hidden spells.
The game features nine distinct worlds organized in a 3x3 grid. While the primary objective is to escape the edifice, the developer encourages players to seek mastery over the environment to unlock further potential, suggesting that simple completion is only the beginning of the experience.
A demo for Nonolith is currently available on Steam. The full version of the game is scheduled for release later this year, offering a puzzle experience that draws comparisons to titles like Fez and Animal Well.
