Rebel Wolves, a studio comprised of former CD Projekt RED developers, has announced a major update for their open-world vampire RPG, The Blood of Dawnwalker. Scheduled for release next week, the 1.1 patch will implement over 1100 fixes and improvements, addressing various player requests since the game's launch on September 3, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.
The update introduces the Draught of Mind Rebirth, an item allowing players to reset and redistribute character skill points. This addition enables experimentation with different fencing, witchcraft, and vampirism builds without requiring a new save file. Furthermore, the developers are adding a new, easier difficulty setting designed for players focused on the narrative, while the current Story mode will be renamed to Forgiving.
Combat mechanics are receiving significant adjustments, including refinements to target selection, enemy locking, and block-breaking. Camera movements and animations have been tuned, and traversal abilities like Shadowstep and Planeshift are expected to respond more reliably. Additionally, the update includes technical enhancements for frame generation and new accessibility options, such as adjustable subtitle sizes.
The patch is expected to arrive during the week of October 19, 2026, though a specific release date remains unconfirmed. Among the miscellaneous changes, players will gain the ability to pet cats and dogs, and the Japanese Steam version will have its censorship of blood and explicit violence removed.
