Key information
Leaked footage from developer portfolios suggests Ubisoft was developing a large-scale open-world title titled Assassin's Creed Destiny. This project was reportedly a collaboration between Ubisoft and Tencent, intended for release on modern consoles and PC rather than mobile platforms.
The game was set in 206 BCE during the transition from the Qin to the Han dynasty, focusing on the rise of Liu Bang. Gameplay snippets depict a hooded protagonist engaging in combat during a siege led by Xiang Yu, utilizing unique mechanics such as a spinning umbrella weapon.
Development materials indicate the title featured thematic UI elements like ink brushes and yin-yang symbols. Additionally, the project appeared to support either a choice between male and female characters or a dual-protagonist system similar to other entries in the franchise.
While Destiny appears to be canceled, Ubisoft continues work on the mobile title Assassin's Creed Jade, which faced delays. Meanwhile, the upcoming Assassin's Creed Hexe has reportedly undergone internal changes, including the removal of magical abilities, alongside significant leadership departures within the development team.
