The Glasgow Employment Tribunal proceedings involving Rockstar and several terminated developers have been extended beyond the original October 16th conclusion date. New sessions are now scheduled for November 16th and 17th, with closing submissions pushed to the following day.
The extension was granted by the presiding judge following a request from Rockstar’s legal team for additional time to cross-examine former staff. Simultaneously, representatives from the Independent Workers Union of Great Britain are continuing their questioning of company leadership.
The legal dispute centers on allegations that Rockstar engaged in union busting by firing 34 employees active in a private union Discord. While the company maintains these individuals leaked confidential data, the union contends the terminations were a strategic effort to suppress organizing, noting the presence of a company mole and the timing of the layoffs as 10% of the workforce prepared to unionize.
A final ruling is not expected for over a month, placing the potential decision just days before the scheduled launch of Grand Theft Auto VI.
