Key information

The official announcement confirms that the manga Kanako's Life as an Assassin, authored by Hiroyuki Wakabayashi, is being adapted into a television anime series. Scheduled for a premiere in April 2027, the project launch included the release of a teaser visual and a promotional video.

The narrative follows Kanako Nishino, an office worker who quits her job at a black company due to extreme exhaustion. She unexpectedly finds new employment as an assassin, where she discovers a surprising, hidden talent for the profession despite her initial self-perception as being as fragile as a snail.

Voice acting roles have been assigned for the main cast. Hana Kube will portray Kanako Nishino, Ryota Suzuki is cast as Sakurai, and Junichi Suwabe will voice the President. The promotional video features a unique transition from a virtual otter advertisement into the animation.

Originally serialized as a four-panel comic on social media, the series has expanded significantly. Following the release of collected volumes, a live-action adaptation debuted in 2025. The manga currently spans nine volumes, with Ching Win Publishing handling the distribution in Taiwan.
